White's personal information, including his Social Security number, cellphone number and address, was published online just moments after the exchange, in which he defended his company's support of the controversial -- and now-shelved -- Stop Online Piracy Act.

Careful what you wish for Dana.

I'm no fan of SOPA, but does this really help or hurt those who are opposed to it as well?

Is Google Watching You?

LEAVE ME ALONE GOOGLE!

Google this week announced a shift in its privacy policies that will allow it to follow the activities of users as they move across the firm’s Web sites, including its highly popular YouTube, Gmail and main search engine. The company emphasized in interviews that the change would apply only to users who are signed on to their Google accounts.

Well, I'm not sure Google REALLY wants to know what websites I'm going to. Is this going a little too far?

We will start with one of my favorite Ted Talks Videos:

At TEDGlobal 2010, author Matt Ridley shows how, throughout history, the engine of human progress has been the meeting and mating of ideas to make new ideas. It's not important how clever individuals are, he says; what really matters is how smart the collective brain is.

Matt Ridley: When Ideas have Sex

What are your thoughts on what Dr. Ridley lecture?
